Sleepio: New training programme for a better night’s sleep
There are all kinds of apps and gadgets specially designed to give you a better night’s sleep, but now a new service called Sleepio or should we say “training programme”, promises to adjust your lifestyle, schedule and attitude to sleep in order to make sure you get plenty of zzzz’s.
It’s a web-based programme over at sleepio.com, which starts by getting users to take an in-depth sleep test in order to pinpoint their sleep issues and serve up a more tailored approach to their problems. You then log-in to your account, keep a diary of how you’re doing and check-in to speak to a virtual sleep expert, who will use a simple form of CBT (or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to try and make subtle changes to your lifestyle, mindset and attitude to sleep. There’s also your own case file with your diary entries and guidance, access to a big database full of sleep resources and the chance to speak to others who are part of the Sleepio community.
As you’d expect from such a tailored and comprehensive course (which probably rivals face-to-face therapy sessions) Sleepio’s services aren’t free. A six week programme with another six weeks of post-course support will set you back £49.99, £79.99 if you want twelve weeks of support instead of six.
