UP bracelet has a healthy app-etite for your lifestyle

We have all become accustomed to the idea of having mobile phone apps that can tell us how many calories we have consumed, that monitor our sleep cycle and whatnot.

Now there is a rubber wristband and iPhone app dubbed UP that does all that, day and night. Produced by Jawbone, the makers of hands-free headsets, UP measures your activity levels, sleep patterns and eating habits which is then stored in an app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, ready to be shared with your friends. You are also encouraged to set up a ‘team’ and start pursuing goals together with your collective.

What else does UP do?

> You can programme UP to vibrate on your wrist to remind you to move when you have been inactive for too long.

> You can replace your iPhone alarm with UP’s silent Smart Alarm which vibrates on your wrist to wake you up at the ideal moment in your natural sleep cycle just before your desired wake time.

> UP also gets to know you by asking how you feel after each meal and will over time use your responses to help you discover which foods make you feel your best (down point  is that you need to log your own meals and analyse them yourself).

Both a social network and a nanny bracelet to help you get a h-app-ier lifestyle, it’s time to set those goals for the new year.

UP is available from Jawbone for £79.99 and you can choose between a large or a small bracelet.
