New SMART Helmet from LifeBeam, offering cyclists the opportunity to monitor their health during route

The Israel based company managed to secure $64,676 for their new smart safety device, after previously only seeking $50,000 worth of funding. Critics of the product claim that LifeBeam are cutting off a large section of the fitness market by targeting cyclists specifically, however the company genuinely believe this is one area they can dominate in, as they don’t offer bulky chest strap monitors; instead SMART helmet uses LifeBeam’s own specialised sensors which have the ability to track the users heart rate, offering a hassle free product for cyclists. The helmet uses Bluetooth as a source of transferring data from the helmet to a number of devices, including fitness watches and smartphones.

The finished product is yet to be mass-produced and pushed into large cycling chains, however the ability to pre-order a device is now available via the LifeBeam website. The finished product has a sleek new look to it, after the team at LifeBeam partnered with popular cycling gear outfit Laser Sport to design the shape and ergonomics of the helmet.
