Pulse Ring gadget monitors JUST your pulse and nothing else

pulse-ring-gadgetThe Pulse Ring from Firebox is super basic, it measures your pulse. Nothing more. Nothing less. For some that might be a bit disappointing, we like our fitness gadgets to be all-singing and all-dancing, right? Well, not always…

Last week we wrote about our ultimate health and fitness gadget and decided that really it should knock the food out of our hand and give us all kinds of information about how we’re living, moving and eating. But, we forget that not everyone is such an obsessive tech geek and sometimes it’s a little unnerving to know EVERYTHING about what you body’s up to.

If you’re into fitness one of the most important stats to be aware of is your pulse, depending on whether you’re building up your stamina or trying to lose weight, it’s important to know whether you’re hitting the high numbers every so often or keeping at a steady pace.

So, the Pulse Ring from Firebox is ideal, because all it does is provide you with real-time and accurate readings about your pulse through a number of infra-red sensors that measure what’s going on in your finger.

The ring itself is really lightweight and has an elasticated, adjustable strap to make sure it’s as comfy as possible as you’re working out, we all know tight gadgets that need to be strapped to your arm or chest can be really annoying when all you want to do is run, run, run.

There are a few cool, additional features too, so the ring shuts down if you’ve stopped exercising after a minute helping you conserve battery, there’s just a simple watch function and you can use it as an interval timer too. Hmm, maybe it’s not all that basic after all.

Who’s the Pulse Ring made for?

Those who are into their fitness and want to keep track of just their pulse, but couldn’t care less if they’ve worked off that muffin quite yet.

Available from Firebox for £24.99.
