CES 2012: Video demo of the Basis health and heart rate monitor

It seems health and fitness monitoring devices were the most popular new offerings at CES this year, but the Basis stands out because of its simple watch design and super intuitive interface.

It’s basically a watch device, which measures your heart rate, steps you’ve taken, calories you’ve burned, your skin temperature and your sweat levels. You can then link the data up to your computer where you can interact with the dashboard and take a close look at the data besides where the Basis feels you should be.

The fact its a watch may make it much more appealing to certain people who want something that fits into their daily lives and doesn’t have to be hooked onto clothing or worn in your ears.

Check out this demo of the Basis at CES.

I am even more excited about the BASIS Watch. I can see that not only will it be good for me, it will also be great for the couples that I work with as well as for my husband who was recently diagnosed with conjestive heart failure. I am anxiously waiting for a chacne to experience it for myself!
