CES 2012 Withings Smart Baby Scale – which tweets your baby’s weight

If you have had a child you probably know that weighing them is a process fraught with all kinds of difficulties, from getting on the scales through to keeping them still.

The biggest problem is invariably actually remembering to write down their weight so you can access it at a later date

Well French technology company Withings hopes to come your aid on that one. It has just announced an Internet-connected baby and toddler scale, the Withings Smart Baby Scale.

The idea is that thanks to its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity it will automatically update your child’s weight on any manner of devices from PCs through to phones and tablets in some instances using a dedicated WiScale app. It can also instantly update Facebook, Twitter or send an email to private email addresses with new readings.

The scale itself features two weighing configurations: one for weighing infants with a removable baby basket, and the second is the toddler scale that emerges once the baby basket is removed.

Withings has made a bit of a name for itself with its excellent WiFi Body Scale, which performs a similar task but is aimed at adults.
