App promises to get Android users in shape within ‘Just 6 Weeks’

With summer coming up fast, the pressure is on for many to get in shape quickly. With the free Android app Just 6 Weeks, you could be about to get the quick fix you need.

The app promises to do exactly what it says on the tin – in just 6 weeks, you’ll be in the shape you want. Just 6 Weeks becomes your very own Personal Trainer, guiding you through your workouts, helping to build stamina and fitness gradually throughout each programme.

The five programmes you can choose from are:

  • 100 push-ups
  • 200 sit-ups
  • 150 dips
  • 200 squats
  • 20 pull-ups

Each exercise consists of 5 sets, apart from the final fee weeks where the app ups the ante with more once you’re that little bit fitter. The information on the screen shows the number of push-ups, sit-ups, dips, squats or pull-ups you have to do and the number of reps left to be done is also in view. When you press the “Done” button, the countdown timer is set, giving you time to relax before the next work out.

We do like the way the app notifies you about your next workout and you can gather some interesting stats about your exercises.

However, as fitness apps come, Just 6 Weeks is pretty limited, mainly due to its lack of exercises. If the above exercises are what make up most if not your entire workout, this app could be perfect for you. Even if, for instance, bench press, leg press or shoulder press were to be added, it could make a huge difference with your workouts becoming slightly more varied.

Just 6 Weeks is free to download and is available to our UK and US readers. The app comes with a 14-day free trial. Once complete, there are several programmes to choose from, each costing 61p/99¢. Alternatively, you can purchase all programs at once for £1.86/$2.99.

We’d recommend downloading and using during the free trial. If you notice a different in two weeks, then Just 6 Weeks could be a good option for getting buff for the summer ahead.
