Nike launches app to help you shop for football boots on your mobile

Nike has launched a number of new training tools and gadgets over the past few months, but now the brand is also branching out into e-commerce much more with its latest football app offering in collaboration with Pro Direct Soccer Zone.

Nike and Pro Direct Soccer Zone have teamed up to create an app for football lovers that brings together soccer-related content, but has a slick e-commerce site at the core that even lets you try on football boots from within your mobile. Well, kind of.

The Pro Direct Soccer Zone app allows you to view content about your favourite players, including the likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Theo Walcott. You can then shop for the kit that they play in, the boots they wear and the other products in their style.

As it’s really hard to find boots you like when you’re shopping from within the app, the developers have made it a bit easier as the ‘virtual bootroom’ feature allows you to super impose shoes onto your feet. OK, so it might not be as good as the real thing, but it does give you a better sense of what they’ll look like when they’re on.

Who’s the app for?
