The Verilux HappyLight perks you up over winter

happy-people-with-lightFor many it may seem a little early to be worrying about winter given we’ve had some soaring temperatures in the UK over the weekend. However, for those who suffer from a bad case of winter blues or more serious seasonal disorders the thought of it getting cold, dark and miserable soon can be pretty scary and upsetting.

Luckily there are all kinds of different ways to deal with the effects of feeling down around winter time and one of the most effective is a special light that provides you with a constant supply of brightness that your body is seriously lacking during the dark depths of winer.

Lots of different brands have brought out their own lights to try and perk people up, we’re big fans of Philips’ range, like the goLITE BLU Energy Light, but the Verilux HappyLight Liberty VT20 is set to be the smallest, brightest and happiest light of them all this winter.

Ryan Douglas, CEO of Verilux, said:

“Your body works differently in the summer than it does in the winter. Bright light helps simulate that same response you’d get from being in the sunshine, cuing the functions, but you need higher light intensities that get close to the brightness you’d see outside.

However, what sets the latest gadget from Verilux apart is that it’s the only one of its kind to pack in 10,000 LUX of light into a device measuring 5.5 inches by 13 inches:

“Most 10,000 LUX boxes are four times this units’ size, which is very overwhelming to have on your desk and even at home it can be a lot for people to handle.”

Due to the fact the light is super bright you can customise the position that it stands in and even switch between two lenses until you become accustomed to having the light sat next to you all the time.

The HappyLight Liberty VT20 will is available from Verilux for $99.95.

Oh and if you needed anymore proof that the light does what it says on the tin, just take a look at how cheesy and ecstatic the people in the photo from the Verilux website are…
