Withings launches its next generation of internet connected scales

Today Withings has launched its next generation of internet-connected bathroom scales, called the Wireless Scale WS-30.

The new scale utilises both wi-fi and Bluetooth tech, which means you can have a cable-free and PC-free weighing in experience, even wi-fi free if your network at home goes down. All you have to do is step on the scale and measurements are automatically recorded and made available to your personal accounts.

The device is designed to provide users with a really intuitive experience, recognising who has stepped on the scale straight away and giving them access to all kinds of data gained from the scale through Withings’ dedicated app.

Wihtings is keen to stress that the new scale hasn’t been designed to replace the company’s original flagship device, the original WBS01 scale. That’s because the new scale is much cheaper given it doesn’t provide you with the same body data the original device can gather, like your BMI and fat mass.

Cédric Hutchings, the Co-Founder of Withings said:

“With Wireless Scale, we have simplified even further the way people automatically assess how fit they are. Now anyone can enjoy the benefits of self-measurement in a really simple way without worrying about connectivity.”

The Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale is available from Withings for €119.95.
